Race Report (400/
Today is my first race that I have done at Caloundra. There lie the first challenge....competing on a course that I am not familiar with.
Arrived at the venue nice and early to allow enough time to register, set up transition and then become familiar with transition and the overall course.
I was feeling a little aprehensive with the calf injury that I have been carrying for the last 2 weeks, the plan was to evaluate how it was going throughout the race and if it got too bad then I would withdraw from the race.

To run or not to run....
Today's Training Program
AM - Run: 30 min run, 10 min easy aerobic just do it. At the 10 min mark this is the start of a surg session, 1 min on at about 90% effort so above your AT (Anaerobic), then 2 min off @ a comfortable high aerobic pace around 10 – 15 beats below AT; repeat this for the remainder of the session.
PM - Swim Session
Today's Journal
Yes I decided to run...it was feeling really good this morning....well...not good enough obviously.....hmmm
Again got about 2/3 through the session and pulled up with a very sore left calf. This time was able to do a slow jog to get home.
Not a happy camper.
By the time I got to the swim session in the afternoon I have found that the soreness had settled a little.
It was another good swim session.
